Battelle: King Avenue

Since 1942, Battelle (or Battelle Columbus Laboratories Decommissioning Project) has performed nuclear research activities for the federal government and private companies at two locations in the Columbus area:

• King Avenue - within the city of Columbus
• West Jefferson - located west of Columbus

Cleanup programs were established for these sites in 1986.  The Site Treatment Plan is scheduled to be submitted for the King Avenue facility  December 31, 1999.
