Because the risk levels associated at OU9 were very low, no further action or
institutional controls were selected as the remedial action for the source areas
within this OU. However, at the DRMO yard, poly-aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH)
contamination was found in the soils that was above an acceptable level of risk.
The soil contamination was addressed through excavation and off-site disposal of
surface soil and backfilling and placing clean gravel over the affected areas.
Long-term ground water monitoring is being addressed under the Basewide
Monitoring Program.
