Area 1, Burial Site 4, Gravel Lakes Tank Site
Capping was completed at Landfill 5 in Spring 1996. The cap consists of a
passive gas collection system, low permeability layers, subsurface drainage
layer, and perimeter surface drainage system. The ground water collection and
treatment system for the Area C boundary is located adjacent to this site.
Long-term monitoring is being addressed under the Basewide Monitoring Program.
Site investigations indicated remedial actions were not necessary for the other
sites within this OU.
